laxi.ai "the App" provides an AI-powered product suggestion and customer assistance platform "the Service" to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

  • Products API: Information about your products, including names, descriptions, prices, and inventory
  • Orders API: Information about customer orders, including order details and fulfillment status
  • Customers API: Basic customer information to provide customer support
  • Store API: Basic store information and preferences
  • Themes API: Access to modify store themes for chat widget integration

Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information from you and/or your customers once you have installed the App:

  • Information about you and others who may access the App on behalf of your store, such as your name, email address, phone number, and billing information
  • Information about individuals who visit your store and interact with our AI assistant, such as their chat conversations, queries, product preferences, IP address, web browser details, time zone, and information about the cookies installed on the particular device

We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account, or using the following technologies:

  • "Log files" track actions occurring on the site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • "Web beacons," "tags," and "pixels" are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the site.
  • "Chat analytics" are used to analyze interactions with our AI assistant to improve response accuracy and product recommendations.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to:

  • Communicate with you about the App and provide customer support
  • Optimize or improve the App and our AI technologies
  • Improve our AI systems' performance and accuracy for better product recommendations and customer support
  • Provide you with information relating to our products or services
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with the App
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues

Important: We remove sensitive client data before storage in our databases, as specified in our Data Processing Agreement.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example:

When you install the App, we will maintain your store and customer information in our records until you uninstall the App or request that we delete specific information. We retain anonymized data for analytical purposes after removing all personal identifiers.

AI Implementation

Our AI systems utilize:

  • Pre-trained AI models
  • Product catalogs and descriptions
  • General ecommerce knowledge bases

We employ techniques such as data minimization and anonymization to protect privacy. We do not use identifiable customer data for any purposes beyond providing the Service.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from children without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.

Changes
